A message from our Renovation Chair, Cheryl Rykowski

As previously announced in March, due to seed money donated over the last few years plus generous donations from the Capital Campaign, we were able to plan a two-part phased renovation to tear down and rebuild the kennel this year and then modestly renovate the main building in 2022.

While we were finalizing our two-part phased plan, one extrodinarily generous donor came forward and changed everything, for the better!  This donation allowed us to reconceive not only the extent of the renovations but also the timeline.  I’m thrilled to announce that beginning in late February 2022, we will simultaneously be tearing down and rebuilding the kennel and gutting and reimagining the entire interior of the main building!

Just how many improvements and upgrades are we making?  Well, that depends on how many more generous donations we get.  We still need your support and have wonderful naming opportunities available. Please reach out to our Director of Development if you are interested in learning more about our project: alice.meenan@daws.org.

Until our next update, we thank you for your generous support of A Place for DAWS and the thousands of animals we care for each year.

With thanks,
Cheryl
